Star Card Terms of Use

This Agreement outlines the general Terms and Conditions that apply to the Star Card. These Terms and Conditions form an Agreement between You and Us governing the possession and use of the Star Card.


APPLYING FOR THE STAR CARD

The Star Card is available to individuals aged 18 years and above.

Cardholders must register with valid personal details to activate the card.
You must complete the relevant application form in its entirety before we can process your application.
You must make sure that all the information in your application is correct.
You will be responsible for any errors resulting from you providing us with the wrong information.
You will be liable for all costs associated with changing or cancelling your application after we have processed it.
You may only use the Star Card by these Terms.


STAR CARD ISSUANCE

The Star Card is a prepaid payment card that will be used to pay for Petrol, Diesel, LPG and Star Oil Lubricants only at any of Star Oil outlets.
The Star Card is a prepaid card, not a credit card. You must ensure that you have sufficient available Funds on the Card to pay for each purchase.
The Star Card will expire on the expiration date and will cease to work.
We will remain the owners of the Star Card and may ask for the return of the Card, cancel or suspend its use, and or end this agreement if:
a) Any of the Terms are breached by you.
b) We suspect any unauthorized use of the Card.
c) You gave false or inaccurate information when you applied for the Card.


ACTIVATION AND EXPIRY

Subject to you completing our checks, the Star Card will be made ready for use after one week of e-mail verification.
The Star Card expires on the date written on the front of the Card. You can use your Star Card only until the Expiry Date.


CARD USAGE

The Star Card can only be used at Star Oil stations.

You will be given a PIN for the transaction.
You need to change your PIN after the first log-in on your StarCard corporate portal.
It is imperative that you commit your Personal Identification Number (PIN) to memory to safeguard against unauthorized usage of the Star Card.
We will block your Star Card if you use the wrong PIN three (3) times in a row. You will be unable to use your Star Card until a PIN reset is done.


AUTHORIZATION TO DEBIT ACCOUNT

The Account will be debited with the amount of each transaction and there are no associated charges.
Each Transaction will require Authorization and Verification before completion.
We cannot stop a transaction once you Authorize the use of the Star Card.


YOUR ACCOUNT

You can access your Account at https://gcbcards.gcbltd.com/login.
By utilizing your account portal, you will have access to a variety of options as outlined below;

View Prepaid Card feature: displays a list of cards linked to your Star Card account.
View Balance Report feature: offers a comprehensive list of cards linked to your Star Card portal account, along with their corresponding balances.
Account to Card feature: allows GCB account holders who also hold a Star Card to conveniently use their GCB account to fund their Star Card.
Card-to-Card transfer feature: allows Star Card holders to easily transfer funds to other Star Card accounts.
G-Money to Card feature: offers G-Money Wallet holders the convenience of using their G-Money wallet account to fund their Star Card.
Reset PIN feature: enables you to easily reset your Star Card PIN if you suspect the card has been compromised or if you have forgotten your PIN.
Reset PIN feature:X enables you to easily activate your card if it becomes blocked.
Card Limit feature: enables STAR CARD holders to establish a daily spending limit on their card.
Block Card feature: allows you to instantly block your card if you suspect any unauthorized activity or security breach.
Cancel Card feature: enables you to easily deactivate your card whenever you no longer have a need for it or suspect that it has been compromised.
It is important to understand that once a card has been cancelled, it cannot be reactivated.
Transactions feature: offers a detailed report of all activities conducted using your Star Card.

It is imperative that you do not disclose any information regarding the authentication procedures, pin codes, or any other details that may compromise your identity and account security. This includes refraining from sharing your full Star Card number or PIN with anyone, as these are confidential details that should only be known to you as the cardholder. Your cooperation in safeguarding this sensitive information is crucial in ensuring the security of your account.
You consent to us keeping a record of activity on your account, including whether there are any suspicious or unusual transactions, and giving this information to the authorities or any credit reference agency.


FEES AND OTHER CHARGES

The Star Card attracts no service fees or maintenance charges A fee of 15 cedis will be charged for the replacement of the Star Card (subject to review)


SECURITY AND LOST

You must make sure that you keep the Star Card, the security details, and, any PIN safe.
We will assume that all transactions entered into by you with your card or card details are made by you unless you notify us of any unauthorised transaction(s).
We suggest you keep receipts of all the transactions on your account, whether they were successful or not.
You must immediately notify our customer Services Centre when you realize your card has been damaged, lost, or stolen or PIN compromised.
Do not write your PIN on the card.
Do not share your PIN with any one including our customer service attendants.


REPLACEMENT OF CARD

The Star Card will be replaced at a fee and dispatched to any Star oil outlet of the customer's choice for pick-up.
If you have requested a replacement card, we will transfer the balance of the old Star Card to a replacement Star Card.


DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Any disputes regarding the loyalty program will be resolved at the discretion of Star Oil.
Star Oil's decision on all matters relating to the loyalty program will be final and binding.


TERMINATION OR CANCELLING OF STAR CARD

Star Oil reserves the right to terminate a cardholder's participation in the loyalty program for any breach of the terms and conditions.
Cardholders may also cancel their Star card at any time by notifying Star Oil.
In the event of cancelling or terminating your Star Card, kindly return the card to the nearest Star oil outlet.


DATA COLLECTION AND USAGE

The information collected through this form will be used solely to register you for a Star Card, for marketing purposes, and to improve the loyalty program.
This includes personal details such as your name, contact information, and other relevant data.


PROGRAM CHANGES

Star Oil reserves the right to modify or terminate the loyalty program at any time, with or without notice.
Any changes will be communicated to cardholders through appropriate channels.


DATA PRIVACY AND SECURITY

We are committed to protecting your personal information. All data submitted will be handled under our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.
Personal data collected during registration and loyalty card use will be used per Star Oil's privacy policy.


GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These terms will be governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana.
We reserve the right to change these terms (including new terms, changes in the fees, and limits) at any time.
These Terms may also be changed to comply with any government, regulation, or laws governing the Star Card.
When we notify you and you are dissatisfied with any change, you can end the agreement and request to cancel the Star Card.
