Our Heritage
Star Oil Company Ltd. was incorporated on October 7, 1998 as a wholly Ghanaian-owned Oil Marketing Company (OMC). Star took advantage of government’s policies of divestiture of state-owned enterprises and deregulation of the petroleum sector in the late 1990s to serve the large segments of the market who were not adequately catered for by the then existing OMCs. The mission of Star Oil Company Limited is to own and operate facilities for the storage, handling and marketing of petroleum products in all districts of Ghana in the most efficient and cost effective manner in order to realize a reasonable rate of return on investment. Star Oil is the oldest Ghanaian Oil marketing company owned by private investors without foreign or state participation.
From the humble beginnings of kerosene and premix fuel stored in small ‘drums’ and marketed to mainly fishing communities along the Volta Lake; Star Oil has braved the odds and turbulence of the industry and seventeen years down the line, is among the top in providing fuel and energy solutions to many corporate and individual clients across the country.
Indeed, Star Oil has grown and developed steadily since 1998. For almost two decades, the company has systematically implemented a programme to own and operate storage and marketing facilities for fuels and lubricants in nearly every district of Ghana. The character of our company has been shown through the tenacity it has exhibited along its journey from Tepa Abotoase, through…Adabraka to its current Head Office location at East Cantonments.
Our Vision
To become the preferred oil marketing company, with strong representation in all districts of Ghana, offering quality and reliable products in a safe and conducive environment.
Our Mission
